Yeah well, if doggos are adorable, pups are the superlative of that. One cannot resist that cute little face staring at you regardless of what you are upto and this is exactly what happened when a marathon runner from Thailand, Khemjira Klongsanun, got a sight of a little fur-ball lying at the roadside, probably abandoned as there was no descry of an owner or the mother.
So while other athletes made their way across the spot, Khemjira, 43, made a little halt and decided to carry the pup for the rest of the contest. Competing in the Chombueng 26-mile marathon, she had crossed 7 miles when she got the sight of the little one. And for the rest of the race (19 miles), the pup stayed with her and both crossed the finishing line together.
Ain’t that the sweetest thing?
“It seemed to me that this little guy was lost. There were no houses, no other dogs, or no people around. So, I picked up the puppy, if only to take him out of the unsafe environment,” said the 43-year-old when quipped about her decision of helping the little one.
“Running almost 20 miles carrying dog was truly a challenge. It was two times tiring than a normal marathon but I did it anyway just because he is adorable.
“It took a lot of time to take the new dog for checkups, vaccinations, and treatments but I’m glad to save him and willing to have him with other dog members in the family.
“It might take a while for him to adapt himself. But Chombueng is a very smart boy. I’m sure he is going to be happy living with us.”

Khemjira, who already owns two dogs, indeed tried finding the owner of the little one, but having faced no success, she decided to make him a part of the family. And the best part is, she decided to name him Chombueng; after the name of the marathon.
