Living a relatively low-key life away from all the limelight, newlyweds Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap have been setting some absolute fashion goals over the period. Hogging the headlines while announcing their not-so-fat weeding at Saina’s residence back in December, Saina looked lovely as ever in an elegant light blue lehenga coupled with a stylish shimmery blue top and a blue and pink dupatta.
Complimenting his better half on the occasion, Parupalli donned a pink asymmetrical kurta with a pink overcoat and a white pyjama. Doesn’t sound like a sumptuous event isn’t it? Welcome to the badminton world, folks…
December, apart from being a busy festive period, also happened to a fancy pomp show of several weddings, and Saina never backed out of showing off her elegance. Following the invitation to Isha-Anand wedding, the Badminton ace rocked the red-carpet by donning a stunning blue, shimmer ensemble by designer-duo Megha & Jigar.
And when it was the time for their own wedding reception, the duo looked heavenly. Dressing up in Sabyasachi, the bride looked stunning in a ‘rich indigo velvet lehenga’. Her outfit was delicately crafted with zardosi, appliqué, pearls and crystals, and was followed by rich Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry collection. Parupalli, on the other hand, complimented his better half in an indigo blue sherwani, which had hand-crafted Bengal tiger buttons. And his outfit was followed by a long pearl necklace, which again was from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry collection.
Since then, this badminton couple has only gone on to give their fans a subtle glimpse of their absolute royalty as well as their flawless fashion sense. Their latest appearance came at ‘Kanpur Wale Khuranas’ shows – hosted by Aparshakti Khurana. For the occasion, Saina wore a pale yellow silhouette gown which looked rich mainly because of its lovely floral embroidery.
And Parupalli wasn’t the one to bow out of this fashion game throughout. His appearance in Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding was complimenting his better half to absolute perfection. Divergent to Saina’s fashion sense, Parupalli likes to play it easy with no heavy convention and his appearance in Kanpur Wale Khuranas is the perfect specimen of it. Dressing up in all black, the Arjuna Awardee was styled by Shravya Varma in a subtle black t-shirt, trousers and a jacket.
And not to forget the appreciation they have for each other. Here’s the proof…
