23-year-old Nitesh Kumar is definitely making his mark as a para-shuttler in India. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) student is working towards his goal of entering the World Championships, one tournament at a time.
Nitesh picked up an interest in sports from a young age, playing football during the early years. But when calamity struck in Visakhapatnam in 2009 and Nitesh was caught amidst it. He was bed-ridden for months and eventually caused permanent damage to his legs. It was during his IIT days when Nitesh’s interest grew in badminton.
