It’s wedding on the cards for singing superstar Jennifer Lopez and retired baseball player Alex Rodriguez who confirmed their engagement on social media platform Instagram on Saturday. Both posted a picture of their hands at sunset, with Lopez’s enormous diamond ring. Rodriguez wrote in lower-case letters: “she said yes.” while Lopez only captioned the pic with heart emojis.
According to reports in News 18, the huge ring is said to be an emerald cut of approximate 15 carats in a platinum solitaire setting and could easily be worth $1 Million.
Both Lopez and Rodriguez have been seeing each other for the past two years. Lopez, who began her career as a dancer and singer, is currently the executive producer and judge on NBC reality dance competition show “World of Dance. This will be JLo’s fourth marriage. She was earlier married three times to Ojani Noa, back-up dancer Cris Judd, and singer Marc Anthony, with whom she has 11-year-old twins. She was also involved in a high-profile relationship with actor Ben Affleck.
For Rodriguez, this will be his second marriage. He divorced his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis in 2008 and has two daughters. In terms of his career, Rodriguez spent most of the years playing for Major League Baseball side New York Yankees. He won one World Series title with the Yankees and was named All-Star 14 times.
His career took a major downfall after he admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs. He was suspended for the entire 2014 season and two years later (2016), he retired from Major League Baseball with his career spanning 22-years in which he hit 696 home runs, placing him fourth on Major League Baseball’s all-time home run list. Rodriguez currently works as an on-air baseball analyst.
