Joe Frazier, widely regarded as one of the greatest sportspersons and boxers of all-time was born on 12 January 1944 in Beaufort, South Carolina. 'Smokin' Joe' as he was known, for his relentless punching ability, Frazier is considered to be Muhammad Ali's greatest rival and contested in the 'Fight of the Century' against him in 1971, which he ended up winning in 15 rounds through a unanimous decision. Overall, Frazier contested in 37 fights, winning 32 of them, drawing 1 and losing only 4, at the end of his career. In his prime, Frazier was an unstoppable monster and has rightfully taken his place in the pantheons of boxing greats. Frazier tragically passed away in 2011 after a long battle with liver cancer.
