The ICC World Cup 2019 is just a few days away. You can feel the excitement in the air and fans clearly cannot wait for the tournament to commence. Ahead of the global event, the cricket teams have been announcing their brand deals and unveiling the kits. England and Pakistan cricket teams are the most recent on the block to make the headlines with their kits.
Starting off with the Pakistan team’s jersey, it is honestly nothing out of the ordinary. The kit still sports the standard green colour like always. The slight tweak for this year’s jersey is the different shades of green that feature on the chest.
Before the official pictures of the jersey, unofficial images were already making the rounds on social media. By the looks of it, fans are not enjoying the Pakistan team jersey and are not holding back from voicing their negative feedback. Hopefully, the youthful team can change everyone’s opinion by bringing the heat on the cricket pitch.
On the other hand, the England cricket team’s stunning blue kit is a nod to the 1992 jersey. A video was released by New Balance Cricket and images of players wearing the jersey by England’s official Instagram account to launch the kit. Interesting enough, England made it to the finals in 1992 and lost to Pakistan by a few runs. The 1992 tournament is also the only time Pakistan has won the cup.
The shirt can be buttoned up, features a navy blue collar and a navy trim around the base of the sleeves, shades of blue on the shoulders, as well as thin red stripes across the chest. In comparison to Pakistan’s kit, the England team’s New Balance kit is far more appealing.
ICC World Cup 2019 will be held in England and Wales from 30 May to 14 July 2019.
