Indian skipper in collaboration with PUMA has come out with his first designed sneakers. The shoe is designed by Virat exclusively for the brand. The PUMA one8 Basket is a sneaker that blends perfectly Virat’s style with PUMA’s all-time classic – the Basket silhouette.
The sneakers will come in black and white in colour and will be dropping exclusively in Indian stores from October 18.
Talking about his new sneaker Virat Kohli said, “This is my first sneaker collaboration ever and I am super excited to be doing it with PUMA. I live in my sneakers and wanted us to create a versatile silhouette that would become a wardrobe staple for both men and women. Cricket is a big part of my style so with PUMA I have reinvented the Basket with elements of the sport that reflect in the design of the shoe.”
The shoes will be priced at Rs 5,999 and will be available across all PUMA stores and puma.com.
Last year in February, Kohli became the first Indian sportsperson to sign a Rs 100-crore endorsement deal with a single brand. The Indian cricket captain struck an eight-year deal with sports lifestyle brand Puma worth about Rs 110 crore.
Kohli joined the likes of Jamaican sprinters Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell, and footballers Thierry Henry and Oliver Giroud – among others – as a global ambassador for the brand.
