The inaugural edition of the cash-rich league saw a number of individual performances that can be labelled as brilliant. One of these individual perfromances is the hat trick taken by Amit Mishra in the 2008 edition while playing for the Delhi Daredevils franchise.
Chasing a target of 195 runs, Deccan Chargers showed resistance to Delhi bowling line up and they were left with 15 runs in last over at their disposal. Ravi Teja was on strike and Amit Mishra was handed over the ball for this deciding over.
A tossed up delivery from Mishra attracted Teja to go after him but only ended up giving a catch to Shoaib Malik at the long-off after playing an inside-out shot.
The second wicket came in the form of Pragyan Ojha in a same fashion. But this time Ojha was caught by Dilshan inside the circle at Extra cover. Mishra then scalped RP Singh after he comletely missed the ball while dancing down the pitch and wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik didn’t waste much time in dislodging the bails behind.
Mishra ended up with a fifer and his figures read 17/5 in 4 overs. Delhi Daredevils won the match by 12 runs. Earlier, Gambhir and Dhawan chipped in with indivudal fifties to guide Delhi to a huge total of 194/ 4 in the decided 20 overs.
