Indian middle-order batsman Moeen Ali completed his 4th Test century against India on the second day of the Rajkot Test. Ali has looked thus far the best English batsman so far. This is the second hundred in the game with Joe Root hitting the first one on day one.
This is the second instance when two batsmen of a visiting team scored the 100s in same innings. The last time when two visiting team batsmen did the same was in 2012. It is pretty interesting tto note that it is again the English batters who have done this. In the Nagpur Test in 2012, Jonathan Trott and Ian Bell had hit two centuries in the same innings. Trott had scored 143 off 305 balls and Bell, at the other end, played another snail-paced innings of 116 runs.
