The 2017 season’s auction of the Indian Premier League is set to take place in Bengaluru on February 20. The 2016 runners-up Royal Challengers Bangalore are really not in a need of going for a “huge” call in this IPL auctions as they already persist a line up which can be labelled as most lethal one.
With Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, KL Rahul and Chris Gayle already in the team, RCB would be looking for a somebody who can held the innings in the middle order as well as can hit some quick-fire runs in the concluding overs. RCB retained 28 players which is the highest among all the teams and are left with Rs 12.85cr left in their purse.
RCB were in a spot of bother when Mitchell Starc pulled out of the IPL 2017. Kohli now would be looking for somebody who can fill this heavy void created after Starc has quit the cash-rich league this season. An option that RCB now have is of England’s Tymal Mills who is also a left-hand bowler and is pretty impressive in the death overs.
Earlier captain Virat Kohli showed interest in picking up Ben Stokes in their squad. He said, ” He’s (Stokes) a guy with great character, he’s always fighting to win games for England. We have seen that from him in Test cricket and today he was really motivated to win the game for them.
“You could tell from his body language. The way he bowled, the way he batted and the way he was running in the end as well, while he was batting. I mean every side is pleased to have cricketers like that. And nowadays everyone does play with that mindset,” Kohli told.
Stokes who has been drafted in the auction list for a base price of Rs 2 crore, has been the most talked about player in the present IPL scenario. A lot of teams would be looking forward to pick him in their side.
