In a sport like Cricket, fitness plays a very important role. Keeping the body in perfect shape and condition is a must in modern day game as the amount of cricket played throughout the year can cause a lot of injuries thanks to fatigue.
For Team India players fitness has become a top most priority and it is skipper Virat Kohli who leads by example keeping his body and fitness in great shape.
During the initial days of his cricketing career, Kohli was not at all a fitness freak and he never perceived fitness seriously but after graduating to international cricket the Team India skipper has come a long way in terms of fitness and has raised the bar for others to follow.

Speaking to India Today Kohli gave insight about how fitness has played an important part in his life. He also said that initially he wanted to look good, but realised that fitness can only help him in doing so.”I will not say something which is inaccurate. I will not say that ‘I never thought that fitness will make me look good,’ because at some stage everyone thinks that way,”.
“Eventually, you realise that it does so much good to you in terms of your mental state, in terms of how you feel and how much more you can do,” Kohli added.
“Now, I don’t do fitness to look good but to stay fit and obviously, I have professional requirements as well. But even after that (cricket), I don’t think it will change and will become a lifestyle,” the Indian captain said.
Recently Kohli uploaded a video of his gym session and said that he craves to become fitter and stronger.
After missing the West Indies T-20I series, the king of Indian cricket will be back in action for India’s tour of Australia that begins on November 21. India will be playing three T20Is, four Test matches and three ODIs.
