Mohammed Shami had a pretty ordinary Indian Premier League season this time around and also failed yo-yo test which kept him out of India vs Afghanistan one-off Test match.
But the Indian pacer is hoping that he will be able to find a place in India’s Test team for the Test series against England. Only a few days ago, Shami, after putting in a lot of hard work, cleared the test and is now hopeful to be named in the Test squad to face England.
A member of Indian team management has confirmed that Shami is ready to give in his all to Indian cricket. “He’s very clear in his mind that he’s going to put his heart and soul into not just sorting out his personal life but also making sure he meets all demands required of international cricket. Given the bowler he is, there’s a lot he is capable of going forward,” TOI learnt from a member of Indian team management.
“We’ll try and see wherever we can help him. It’s important from his career point of view and even from a team perspective because there’s so much he brings to Indian cricket,” mentioned the team management.
India won the T20I series 2-1 on Sunday. India will play England in five Tests beginning from August 1.
