It was a pretty crucial moment in the Test match. Ben Stokes had already survived the spin barrage on Day 1 and had made a pretty decent start to Day 2. Going all-out attacking, there was an Ashwin delivery which seemed to have taken an outside edge to slips. The on-field umpire hadn’t given it out and DRS was taken by Virat. On a closer look, there seemed to be a deflection from Stokes’ bat but also, his bat was touching the ground. Ultra-edge, the software that shows the minimal of edges, spotted both and hence the big spike.
The third umpire gave it out and Ben Stokes was pretty disheartened with it. He was walking back pretty angry but now, after stumps, he posted a tweet saying that it was the right thing to do.
Felt a a bit hard done by until I seen the replays properly, correct decision was made in the end thanks to DRS,every series should have it
