Indian captain Virat Kohli was furious at the post match press conference after the end of second Test in Bengaluru. The fourth day of the Test saw India attacking the Australians in the fourth innings, taking all the ten wickets for just 110 runs.
Virat Kohli was unhappy with the way Australian captain Steve Smith consistently asked the dressing room before opting for DRS. When he was caught trapped in front of the wickets, Smith looked in the direction of the dressing room before umpire Nigel Llong interfered. Virat too lost his cool and he did not seem to mince his words in the press conference.
Speaking on the DRS controversy that has surrounded the Indian team since the Pune Test, he said, “We’ve been inconsistent with DRS but one thing is for sure, we don’t ask for help from upstairs (dressing room).”
He said, “They’d been doing it for 3 days. You don’t cross a certain line in cricket.”
Kohli also reacted on Ian Healy’s comment that he is losing respect for Virat Kohli after watching him sledge the Australians in the Bengaluru Test. Healy had said:
“The pressure is starting to tell on (Kohli). I’m losing respect for him. He’s got to be a lot more respectful of his opponents. The stuff he did with Steve Smith was unacceptable.”
Responding to his comments, Kohli said that the country’s 1.2 billion people are with him and we all know how Healy behaved in Centurion when he got out and if needed people can go and watch the video on Youtube.
