The first session of the series decider between India and Australia has been dominated by the visitors, with India lacking the intensity on the field. Despite the conditions providing some assistance to the fast bowlers in the first session, India weren’t penetrative enough with the ball to make any sort of a dent in the Australian batting line-up. India were also poor on the field, dropping David Warner off the very first delivery of the match, continuing their poor performances in the slips.
There was still some positive for India though, as they got the single solitary wicket of promising young opener Matt Renshaw in the session. Umesh Yadav, who has performed exceptionally well in the home season produced a peach of a delivery to get rid of Renshaw.

Despite the early breakthrough, India have been lackluster in the session, with Steve Smith and David Warner dominating the run of play. Steve Smith has continued his dominating run in the series, registering another half century on the board. David Warner too, has finally gotten off to a start in the series, looking like his old self. In the process, he has registered his first half-century of the series. India in the second session of Day 1, have to go back to the drawing board in order to stop the Australian assault.
