After losing the first Test against England at Edgbaston, there is more bad news for Virat Kohli and Team India. According to a report, pacer Jasprit Bumrah is unlikely to be fit for the second Test that starts at the Lord’s on Thursday.
Bumrah had injured his thumb during the first T20 International against Ireland and since then has not featured for Team India. India are already without Bhuvneshwar Kumar and it seems that the bowling attack will remain same for the second Test as well.
While Bumrah has been bowling consistently at the nets but the thumb will need a little more time before he can bat, bowl and field with ease.
The BCCI while naming the squad for the first three Test had said: “Jasprit Bumrah who has been included in the squad, will be available for selection from the 2nd Test onwards based on his fitness.”
Team India bowlers did a decent job in the first Test but Umesh Yadav’s performance will be a matter of concern for Team India’s management. It remains to be seen if Kuldeep Yadav or Ravindra Jadeja gets a nod ahead of any of Umesh.
