India’s Jasprit Bumrah will start the T20I series as the No. 1 ranked bowler in the format, surpassing Pakistan spinner Imad Wasim. Bumrah now has 729 ranking points, while Wasim at No. 2 is 10 points behind at 719. Rashid Khan, Samuel Badree and Imran Tahir occupy the next three spots. New Zealand go into the series against India as the No. 1 team, but can slip to No. 2 if India win the series 3-0. If that were to happen, India would go to No. 2 in the ICC ODI rankings. It is to be noted that India have not beaten New Zealand in T20Is in their 4 previous meetings.
A series win for New Zealand will keep them at No. 1 with Pakistan at No. 2. However, If India win 3-0, they will move to No. 2 with Pakistan going on top of the rankings.

New Zealand win 2-1- New Zealand 126 points, India 115 points

Also, following the conclusion of the T20I series between Bangladesh and South Africa, David Miller, who smashed the fastest T20I century has moved up 16 places to 22nd in the T20I rankings. The likes of Hashim Amla and Soumya Sarkar too have gained places.
Following a good show from veteran Pakistan batsman Shoaib Malik in the T20I series against Sri Lanka, he too has moved up 3 spots to 26.
New Zealand offered tremendous resistance in the ODI series before this, but it was India who edged them out 2-1.
