Opener Mayank Agarwal continued to shine as he scored another century as India A outclassed England Lions by 102 runs in the third game of the Tri-nation ‘A’ series, in Leicester on Tuesday.
Mayank, who scored 112 against Windies A on Tuesday, scored another 112 to help Indian A post a solid 309 on board in the quota of overs. Chasing 310 to win, England Lions never gave India A a challenge as they were bundled out for 207 in 41.3 overs.
For India A – Shardul Thakur was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 53. India A are now level on points with the Lions – they have 4 points from three games they have played so far.
Apart from Mayank Agarwal’s superb 112 – Shubman Gill and Hanuma Vihari also scored brilliant 72 and 69 respectively. Prithvi Shaw was rested for the game – it is still not known whether he was rested or had an injury concern.
Mayank’s innings comprised of 10 fours and four maximums. On the other hand, Gill took 80 deliveries for his 72 which included 10 boundaries and a six. They also shared an opening stand of 165 runs.
This is Agarwal’s third ton in the England tour. He has scored 151 retd out against Leicestershire, 112 against West Indies A and now 112 against the Lions.
In the bowling front apart from Shardul Thakur – Khaleel (2/30), M Prasidh Krishna, Krunal Pandya, Krishnappa Gowtham and Hooda chipped in with a wicket apiece.
