All-rounder Moeen Ali becomes the seventh England player to get to the 2,000 runs and 100 wickets double. He achieved this feat in on Day Two of the first Test between England and South Africa at Lord’s.
Moeen went past 2,000 runs when he made 87 0ff 147 deliveries in England’s first innings and when South Africa batted, he Removed Dean Elgar for 54 and Hashim Amla for 29 to pick up 100 Test wickets. Moeen joins the likes of Wilfred Rhodes, Trevor Bailey, Tony Greig, Ian Botham, Andrew Flintoff and Stuart Broad.

Moeen has made many valuable contributions down the order. Even in the ongoing match, he and new skipper Joe Root put on 177 runs for the sixth wicket to take England to a commanding position in this match.
