India had a brilliant start to their tour down under as they overcame Australia in the first Test match of the series in Adelaide. It was nail-biting stuff till the very end as the Australian tail wagged brilliantly on Day 5 and on many occasions, it seemed as though they would come out triumphs with an improbable win. In the end, though, India prevailed winning the Test by 31 runs with Cheteshwar Pujara’s brilliant knocks in both the innings taking all the plaudits.
While all the conversation should have been around India’s victory in the first Test of the 4-match series, it will be Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri, who will be making all the headlines for his comments on national television.
After the victory, Shastri was being interviewed by the experts’ panel on Sony Six with Sunil Gavaskar asking him on the tagline for the series ‘Chhodna Mat.’ To this, Shastri had an interesting reply, implying that towards the end of the match, India were in a lot of trouble.
Here’s what Shastri said which left some viewers in a fit of laughter, while others were left pretty embarrassed:
Twitter, as usual, was quick to react to Shastri’s words and here is how the social media platform was set abuzz by the coach of the Indian national team:
I am reliably informed that Shastri has described (on Sony's broadcast) the nervous feeling of watching the end of this Test as like having his "balls in his mouth". I believe it's a saying. #AUSvIND

If nothing else, Ravi Shastri has always been a champion when dishing out a decent soundbite for the cameras.
