There is no doubt that when famous personalities make an appearance in a brand campaign, fans flock to social media to give their opinions.
In the latest TV commercial of Himalaya Men, Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and wicket-keeper batsmen Rishabh Pant have teamed up to talk about pimples. The duo has been appointed as the brand ambassadors of the brand’s new men’s range. Kohli and Pant are seen rapping about the pimple problem while promoting the Himalaya Men neem face wash.

“I am very excited to be a part of Team Himalaya and be the ambassador for their Men’s Face Wash range. Himalaya is a trusted brand and one of my favourite brands too! I have been a patron of Himalaya products for a long time now. I look forward to a long association with Himalaya MEN!,” Kohli said.
The advertisement with a catchy tune was clearly meant to be taken in a light-hearted tone. But Internet trolls, of course, had to make a go for it. They could not hold back from negatively commenting about the duo rapping and even went as far as calling the ad “cringeworthy”.

Even England cricketer Stuart Broad got involved and wrote: “I genuinely believe @josbuttler & @benstokes38 would be excellent ambassadors for this brand. Please contact @phoenixmg3.”

After a disappointing performance in Indian Premier League (IPL), Virat Kohli is all set to lead the Indian cricket team in the World Cup. Unfortunately, Rishabh Pant will not be hopping on to the plane since he did not make it to the line-up.
The tournament will be taking place in England and Wales from 30 May to 14 July 2019.
