There’s no competition for Virat Kohli these days, on and off the pitch. The Indian Test captain has been scoring plethora of runs in international cricket across all formats. When it comes to earning money, he is ahead of everyone by leaps and bounds too.
When it comes to comparisons with the Pakistani cricketers, there’s no competition either. The highest earning Pakistani cricketer last year was Mohammad Hafeez, who earned Rs. 2.5 crore. Kohli’s number, however, is startling Rs. 308 crore. This is 100 times more than what Hafeez earns in Pakistan.
The facts related to Pakistani players’ earnings were revealed by the PCB in the documents sent by them to the Ministry of Inter- Provincial Co-ordination for the year 2015-16. The board paid Rs. 35.2 crores to 46 cricketers in that year. In India, only Virat Kohli garnered Rs. 308 crore.
The list of the top earning players includes national One-Day captain Azhar Ali (30 million rupees), Younis Khan (24 million), Misbah-ul Haq (24 million), Ahmed Shehzad (28 million), Wahab Riaz (29 million), Shoaib Malik (26 million), Asad Shafiq (20 million), Rahat Ali (17 million), Mohammad Irfan (15 million), Umar Akmal (18 million), Junaid Khan (13 million), Zulfiqar Babar (11 million), Anwar Ali (12 million), Muhamamd Rizwan (14 million).
