Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara had an outstanding year with the bat, scoring almost 2000 runs in first-class cricket. He played some great knocks for India in the last one year, including the ones in the just-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Virat Kohli acknowledged the effort of the strong-headed Pujara on Twitter, posting a picture with him. The picture was clicked when the Indian team recently went to the mountain-trekking.
Here is the picture:
Really happy and delighted to see the grit and determination of this guy. Well done Puji @cheteshwar1 for an outstanding season brother. ???? pic.twitter.com/5ACBZwmB2A

There was a whole lot of criticism on how Pujara played with a slow strike rate and how it was very important to play at a brisk rate. Indian coach Anil Kumble had defended Pujara when he said that strike rate is of no concern for a batsman in Test cricket, it is the bowler who should be concerned about the strike rates.
Pujara proved out to be the best batsman of the series, scoring tons of runs. He was not only influential with the bat but in the field as well. Fielding at silly-point position is not easy but Pujara was always up to the task.
It is great to see Kohli posting a picture with Pujara. It also reflects on the great bonhomie that is there in the Indian dressing room, where everyone is looked with great respect. India’s next Test series is some months to go and it gives ample amount of time for Pujara to spend some time off the field.
