Mumbai Indians finished top of the Indian Premier League 2019 points table after a crushing 9-wicket win against Kolkata Knight Riders in the final league game. In the process, they have now set up a mouthwatering clash against Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 1.
In the first eliminator, Delhi Capitals will face Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sunrisers sneaked through in fourth place with just 12 points and became the first team in the IPL history to qualify for the playoffs with just 12 points to their name.
Each of the top three teams finished with nine wins and five losses. But Mumbai Indians topped the group thanks to better run-rate in comparison to Chennai Super Kings and Hyderabad.
The first Qualifier will take place in Chennai on Tuesday. The Eliminator will take place on May 8 while the Qualifier 2 will be held on May 10. The winner of Qualifier 1 will reach the final, while the loser will play the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2. The winner of Qualifier 2 will progress to the final.
