Following the conclusion of Trans-Tasman Tri-Series, India-South Africa T20Is and Afghanistan-Zimbabwe clash in the shortest format and Sri Lanka-Bangladesh encounter; the ICC rankings for players have come up with some interesting changes. Let’s take a look at them here:
Starting with T20I batting rankings, New Zealand opener Colin Munro tops the chart by gaining three slots after aggregating 176 runs in the series. Those runs include two fifties at a staggering strike-rate of almost 210. With 801 points, Munro is followed by Glenn Maxwell in the chart, who has 799 points.
Among other batters, Martin Guptill is back in top 10 batting rankings as he is now at the 5th position. Previously he was at 11th. He scored 258 runs in the Tri-Series from 5 matches at an average of 51.6 and 160.24. England’s Dawid Malan jumped 127 places to attain his career-best spot of 22nd, while India’s Shikhar Dhawan moved 14 places to claim 28th position.

Among all-rounders, Australia’s Glenn Maxwell dethrones Shakib Al Hasan from the top spot in ICC T20I all-rounders rankings. Maxwell earned two slots after scoring 233 runs and 3 wickets in the Tri-Series. With 390 points, Maxwell is way ahead of Shakib as the Bangladeshi cricketer has 326 points to his name.

After becoming no. 1 bowler in ODIs, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan continues to dominate the top position in T20I rankings as well. But the significant change has come in New Zealand leg-spinner Ish Sodhi’s position in the rankings. He gained one position and is at 2nd spot but trailing by 59 points against Rashid. Sodhi scalped 5 wickets in the Tri-Series from 5 games.
