Chris Gayle leads the list with over 11,000 T20 runs. He might add more runs to his tally before he calls it a day, but it will not be naive to say that his record might never be broken. However, there are a few contenders, who can score 10,000 T20 runs. Let’s take a look at few of them.
Suresh Raina has the most runs in IPL history and already has over 7,000 T20 runs to his name. At 31, he is still fit and has about 4 to 5 years left in him. He will surely cross the 10,000-run barrier.

One of the most talented players in the world, Rohit Sharma has upped his game in all 3 formats, but he has been prolific in the limited-overs. He has led Mumbai Indians to three IPL titles and with more that 6,800 T20 runs. Rohit could have tough competition from Raina and Kohli to determine who will be the first to 10,000 T20 runs.

India captain Virat Kohli almost scored close to 1,000 runs in IPL 2016. Like Raina, Kohli too has over 7,000 runs in T20s. Given the form he is in, it will not be surprising even if he goes past Chris Gayle’s record in the years to come.

David Warner has always known to be a powerful hitter, but he has also tasted success in the longest format. He is Australia’s highest scorer in T20 cricket and with Warner playing in the IPL and other leagues too, he could be the first Australian to score 10,000 runs.

After serving New Zealand for many yeas, Brendon McCullum now travels the world by playing in T20 leagues across the globe. Only Chris Gayle has more T20 runs than McCullum. With close to 9,000 runs in the shortest format, it will perhaps take McCullum a year or two to reach 5 figures.

One cannot overlook Aaron Finch when it comes to T20s. Finch has the highest individual score in a T20I and on his day, he can make any bowling attack look mediocre. He has over 6,000 runs in T20s and at the pace he scores runs, it will be daft not to consider him in this list.

The big West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard has always made an impact, be it with his bat or with ball in hand. Pollard has played the most matches in T20s and he has a few more years left in his kitty. He has close to 8,000 runs and it could be matter of just 2 to 3 years before he gets to the 10,000-run mark.
