On Friday; May 4, 2018; Rohit Sharma became the 1st Indian and 1st Asian to hit 300 sixes in T20 cricket history. Playing for Mumbai Indians in the 11th edition of Indian Premier League at Indore against Kings XI Punjab, Rohit reached this landmark in the 279th T20 of his career. His 300th six came off Afghanistani spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman and later won the match as well for his team. With that six, Rohit also becomes 7th batsman overall to have smashed 300 or more sixes in T20 history. On that note, let’s take a look at other 6 players to have achieved this record before.
Churning out the data for sixes and how can one forget the ‘Universe Boss’ — Chris Gayle. He is certainly the king of hitting sixes in T20s.
The difference (317) between Gayle’s number of sixes and Pollard is more than Rohit Sharma’s total number of sixes in T20s.
Gayle has hit 843 sixes in T20s, which is by far the most by any batsman in the format and might remain a record to his name for eternity. Out of 843, Gayle has hit 263 sixes only for RCB — the most for a team by him.

Talking about sixes and how can one keep Caribbean players away from this list. Kieron Pollard is another West Indies cricketer to feature in this list with 526 sixes in T20s — more than the number of fours he has hit.
Out of 526 sixes, Pollard too has hit the most for his IPL team Mumbai Indians — 186.
