Afghanistan are set to make history by making their Test debut against India soon. With this historic match, one Afghanistan cricketer may break an old record of being the youngest in team’s debut Test match. He is none other than Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who has been picked for the historic Test. He is only 17-year-old. Moreover, four out of 16 players from Afghanistan Test squad are in their teenage; Mujeeb, Rashid Khan, Zahir Khan, and Wafadar. If Mujeeb gets to play this Test, then he will break Hanif Mohammad’s record of being the youngest on team’s debut Test. On that note, let’s take a look at five youngest players on their respective team’s debut Test.
At the age of 18 years 119 days, Ranjan Das made his only Test appearance, which was in Bangladesh’s maiden Test.
His only wicket in Tests was of Sadagoppan Ramesh in that match and never represented Bangladesh further.
