Anushka Sharma in an interview with Vogue magazine has revealed some intimate details about her marriage to Virat Kohli. She also let it slip out that before getting married, the pair used fake names to arrange details about their wedding so that their privacy would be maintained. The pair got married in an intimate ceremony in Italy, with only a few of their family and friends present.
Speaking on the small ceremony, Anushka said:
“We wanted to have a home-style wedding. There were only 42 people there, with all our friends and family present. I wanted it to be about Virat and me marrying each other, and not this big celebrity wedding. The energy at our wedding was blessed.”
She also revealed an interesting tidbit on Virat using a fake name while booking the caterers for their wedding, saying:
“We even used fake names while talking to the caterer; I think Virat’s was Rahul.”
Anushka also revealed that spending time with Virat and her family was now the main priority in her life over other things:
“The past few years of my life I have been working so much. Now I have to take out time for what is important to me. Spending time with my husband is important. Unfortunately, we’re hardly in the same place at the same time, so in the time that I have off, I want to prioritise spending time with him and my family.”
As revealed by Anushka, spending quality time together has been a real issue for the couple. Things will only get busier for the Indian cricket team captain in the upcoming months. The team is currently in the middle of a high-profile 5-match ODI series against Australia. This will be immediately followed by the 12th edition of the IPL where Kohli will captain the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Once the IPL is done with, all eyes will turn toward the 2019 ICC World Cup, where expectations will be high from India as they head into the tournament as one of the favourites.
