Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh recently became proud parents of a baby girl. Rohit had to leave the ongoing Australian tour midway to attend the birth of his first child.
Rohit was on the flight back home from Australia when his child was born in Mumbai.
On Sunday, the Indian opener revealed the name of her daughter. The 31-year-old took to Twitter to announce the name of the newborn. “I spent last night On the last flight to you Took a whole day up Trying to get way up Baby Samaira,” Rohit wrote on his official handle.

Earlier, this week, Rohit shared the first glimpse of his newborn daughter. Rohit shared a photograph of his daughter and wrote, “Well hello world! Let’s all have a great 2019.”

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in a statement announced that Rohit will join the squad on January 8, when the team begins its preparation for the One-day International (ODI) series starting on January 12.
Earlier, in December – Rohit has also shared an apology post an Instagram where he apologised to Ritika for being away on her birthday. Ritika had turned 31 on December 21. Rohit had shared an old photograph with Ritika and wrote, “Happy birthday my other half. Apologies for not being there thought I’ll share this inflight celebration of your birthday last year @ritssajdeh.”
