The world of sports witnesses magical moments both on and off the pitch. With players followed on their every move, it is hard to miss out on any big news.
While the football world, Manchester United particularly, witnesses a baby boom this year, cricket isn’t far behind when it comes to welcoming newborns. The latest athlete to join the daddy-wagon is South Africa and Delhi Capitals star player Colin Ingram.
Missing out on the game with Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, Colin Ingram received the best news he could possibly imagine and left for his hometown in South Africa to welcome his son with wife Megan Olivier.
Colin and Megan tied the knot back in 2010 and have a daughter – Mia Ingram. Though the couple is known to be very private on social media, the news of a new heir wasn’t held back.
Delhi Capitals’ official Instagram account posted this picture of the baby boy, named Ben Alexander Ingram, with a proud daddy Ingram. The little boy is seen staring innocently at Colin’s face while sister Mia watches on.
Colin has scored a total of 138 runs in this season’s IPL with a strike rate of 121.37. The South African import has been in the news ever since his match-winning six against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Ingram joined the rebranded Delhi Capitals this year for INR 6.40 crores, which marked his comeback to the franchise tournament after many years.
While the talented cricketer spends time with the newest member of his family, we suppose we won’t be seeing that many match-winning sixes from the man anytime soon.
Maybe next year, little Ben could join the populated child presence at the grounds cheering on for their daddies, something Colin will be eager to cherish in his upcoming cricket years.
