Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Charulatha at a private ceremony in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala on Saturday. The newly-wed couple had earlier announced their relationship on Facebook in the month of September this year. The pictures of their marriage are currently doing rounds on social media. Charulatha is the daughter of a senior journalist at Malayalam daily Mathrubhumi, B. Ramesh Kumar.
With the next round of Ranji Trophy 2018/19 matches against Punjab scheduled next week, the duo decided to tie the knot. The 24-year-old has failed to find a spot in the national setup since making his debut for India during a T-20I game against Zimbabwe in which he scored just 19 runs.
In June earlier this year, he was dropped from the India A side that toured England for the tri-series after failing to clear the yo-yo test. The very next month, Samson cleared the fitness test with a mark of 17.3 and made his comeback to India A squad for the quadrangular series between India A, India B, Australia A and South Africa A played in Bengaluru.
Samson, who was retained by Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2019 auction is struggling to score in the ongoing season. In Vijay Hazare trophy, he managed 115 runs in six innings while in the Ranji trophy, he has just scored 198 in eight innings so far.
