They say love takes its course, while your heart leads the way. Mumbai Indians cricketer Krunal Pandya and his charming better-half, Pankhuri Sharma Pandya officially tied the knot in last December. The duo is head-over-heels in love with each other and their sparkling chemistry looks effortless and endearing.
The lovebirds met through a common friend during IPL 2016. Pos their first meeting, Krunal knew he has to meet Pankhuri again.
Sharing intricate details about how it all began, Pankhuri says, “I don’t know fortunately or unfortunately he was in Mumbai for a very long time because of his injuries. So that is how we started meeting more often… I started bunking office. I’m someone who doesn’t talk and I would not stop talking to him.”
“I think he is very charming. I don’t know what but there is something about him, which is very attractive,” says Pankhuri in a video by The Wedding Story.

And before they even knew, they had fallen in love with each other. But there was one thing that was distinct about the two. “You know those typical lovey-dovey couples, we were never like that. We told each other that ‘let’s be honest with each other, honest in the sense behavior wise’,” said Krunal. To which Pankhuri added, “We were never like boyfriend-girlfriend. We were always friends and he would tell me everything.”
Though the whole world knew that the two were dating, back home Krunal’s brother Hardik had no clue about anything. “I didn’t even get to know when they started dating. Its only after two-to-three months that I got to know that something is cooking between them. So, I asked others if they knew and they said, ‘Of course. They have been dating for so long now.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God! Where have I been all this while? Here my brother has fallen madly in love and I’ve no clue about it’.”

After spending considerable amount of time with each other, came the moment when Krunal decided to propose Pankhuri for marriage. It was during 2017 IPL finals for Mumbai Indians, where Krunal also won the man of the match award. That was the moment when he decided that there cannot be a better day and time to propose the love of his life.
“And I was with his brother at that time and suddenly I heard music coming from behind. I could hear Krunal singing and thought that probably he is too happy that he has won the Man of the Match. But when I came in, he made me stand. He had a cake in his hand where it was written, “Will you marry me?”. I did not read what was written on it as I thought he is going to hit the cake on my face,” beams Pankhuri, adding, “And at that point I was like, ‘Okay, this is it. I have to say yes to it. I can’t change my mind’.”
