We often come across world famous players and their inspiring stories that have managed to motivate them through tough times on and off the pitch. Most of these sports personalities often owe thanks to special people in their lives; their coaches, mentors, and their partners too.
One such evergreen player is India’s gem in cricket, Virat Kohli. The captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Indian national side is one of the best in the game and it’s out there for all of us to see.
RCB registered their first win of the IPL season this year after a disastrous start, losing all the matches before they beat Kings XI Punjab on Saturday. Post the match, Virat had a chat with fellow teammate AB de Villiers, and the captain gave out some key insights into his secrets to the success of his career.
Speaking to the South African legend, Virat pointed out that he thanks his wife, Bollywood beauty Anushka Sharma, for changing his life positively ever since they got hitched in December 2017.
He mentioned that Anushka has helped him change his outlook towards life and maintain a balance, that has worked for him in so many ways.
He said, “I think over the last year or so, the best thing to have happened to me is my marriage. It’s changed my whole world. I have the most beautiful wife, the most beautiful person.”
The couple is often seen supporting each other in their individual projects, the so-in-love pair have always made sure of that. So it is only natural that Anushka is one of the many motivations in Virat’s life.
“That has been the most strong factor in my life to change the way I was. Before, I was too intense in life. She [Anushka Sharma] always keeps me motivated, positive and spend quality time with each other and get away from the game,” he added.
Now we have all seen what a strong woman behind a man can do, and Anushka sure knows how to prove that point. While Virat basks in the glory as one of the best cricketers in the world today, we’re sure the inspiration he takes from his wife is a major factor that will help him strive to succeed in the many years ahead.
Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Mumbai Indians today at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. While MI will be looking to continue their winning streak, Virat and co. have found a new stand with winning matches.
Will this prove to be a turning point in RCB’s season? Let’s wait and watch.
