English batting legend Kevin Pietersen, despite retiring from all forms of the game, is still a pretty busy man in life. He still carries out a lot of professional commitments, commentating during various T20 leagues around the world, which have become a staple of world cricket these days.
Not to forget, Kevin also dedicates a lot of his time in Africa, promoting animal welfare, especially in his efforts to save the endangered rhino all around the world.
To take a break from his busy schedule, KP decided to take a well-deserved break along with his family and flew out to the beautiful island resort of Amilla Fushi in the Maldives.
Pietersen first posted a beautiful picture, wishing his wife Jessica on Instagram. In the picture, the couple was seen lying on the beach, enjoying the serenity, which the location had to offer.
The South Africa-born batsman was quite an impressed man after his trip to Amilla Fushi, describing it as the best beach experience of his life. He wrote on his Instagram account, “#FamilyGoals here at @amillafushi. It’s hands down the BEST beach experience EVER & we’ve done a few… #AmillaFushi#Amilla #IslandBliss #Maldives#RichExperiences #IslandAllure.”
While in the beautiful island country, Pietersen also tried out the underwater experience, posting a video which he shot of a sea turtle.
KP’s wife Jessica, was also left impressed with the little initiatives and personal touches which the island of Amilla Fushi came up with, to make the Pietersen’s at home. She wrote, “Look at these amazing personal touches @amillafushi has organised for us…such an unbelievably special place ❤️”
Pietersen also tried to recreate the iconic ‘SIII’ celebration by Cristiano Ronaldo while jumping inside the water and it went horribly wrong. Pietersen though is a big sport and wasn’t afraid to poke fun at himself, writing, “My @cristiano celebration gone BAD! 🙈 #fail #epicfail.”

Pietersen also posted a candid snap of himself on his Twitter account, in which he revelled in the sights of the morning sunrise in the island.
After watching the snaps, which he has posted and the things he has written about the beautiful island nation, it would not be wrong to state that Kevin Pietersen has well and truly fell in love with the Maldives.
