On this day, during the heated 1992 World Cup clash between India and Pakistan at Sydney Cricket Ground, Javed Miandad got into conflict with Indian wicketkeeper Kiran More. However, the fight ended in a hilarious manner as Miandad tried to emulate More’s way of appealing by jumping up and down. That moment remains one of the most memorable one in the history of World Cup and any India-Pakistan clash. The great Pakistani batsman did have the penchant for getting under the skin of the opposition. And often it did work for him. However, in the end, it is the result which mattered the most. This was India’s first clash against Pakistan in a World Cup match. India won the match by 43 runs while defending 216 but Pakistan further went on to lift the World Cup trophy in the final.
