When Danny Drinkwater arrived from Leicester City to Chelsea in a deal over the 30 million pound mark, there were a lot of expectations from him to fill the void left by Nemanja Matic. It was believed that him pairing up with his Leicester City partner N’golo Kante would help Chelsea solidify their midfield but things haven’t exactly worked out for the former Manchester United youth product.
Former manager Antonio Conte did not fancy the Englishman much, resulting in only sporadic appearances and starts in the previous season. Under new manager Maurizio Sarri, things have only gotten worst for Drinkwater, as he has not started a single game with the Italian openly stating that the midfield general does not suit his tactics and is not capable of playing in a midfield three.
Not being used by the club much, Drinkwater has had plenty of time in his hands to try out new ventures and he has now opened up his own restaurant business in his hometown of Manchester. The restaurant has been named Foodwell and is much more than just a simple health-food restaurant.
Here we take a look at a few of the amenities:
While opening the restaurant, Danny Drinkwater wrote on his Instagram, “The restaurant is officially open!! I hope everyone can enjoy this unbelievable place, it’s a huge passion of mine and has been a dream made possible by a fantastic team. Thank you!”

Drinkwater’s venture isn’t simply just a plain restaurant. It has various amenities and is spread across a large space. The restaurant is inspired by designs of various eateries in Los Angeles. It has a an eating deli which has lots of space for people who want to enjoy a meal there at any point of the day and also features a takeaway section for those who prefer to eat in the solitude of their home.
