The football world witnessed something shocking as well as disappointing when Turkish born Mesut Ozil announced his retirement from international duties last year. Following fans’ fallout when Ozil was seen with Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Arsenal playmaker ended his German national career.
Although we may not see him playing for one of football’s most prolific countries, his loyalties when it comes to automobiles still lie with the Germans.
The Arsenal star has a wide collection of some of the most luxurious wheels out there, but his striking love towards Mercedes-Benz is noteworthy. Often seen in three of the most iconic cars by the German company, Ozil takes pride in owning the SLS AMG, S65 AMG and a G-Wagen.
These three favourites from the Mercedez arsenal makes it a whopping £500k in total worth.
SLS AMG – £165,030

In 2014, Ozil was seen cruise around in London with this two-door supercar. The SLS AMG is capable of clocking 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 196 mph.
While the SLS AMG was in production, Mercedes confronted former Formula One great David Coulthard to ensure its quality. Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson once called it ‘the greatest car in the world’.
Other football personalities who own the mean machine are former United defender Patrice Evra, Arda Turan and Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale.
S65 AMG – £183,065

This twin-turbo charged 6.0 litre V12 engine with 621 brake horsepower is one of the best in the garage. With this machine in his house, Ozil can never get late for training.
The S65 is a spacious coupe that can reach 62 mph in just 4.1 seconds and does that in style thanks to its top-notch looks. Unlike the SLS, the S65 is not a speed-pro, limited to a top speed of just 155 mph.
We first saw the S65 when Ozil shared a picture back in 2016.
G63 AMG – £143,305

One of the most recognised vehicles from the German car makers, the G63 is absolute bliss. A definite footballers favourite, the G-Wagen is owned by many Premier League stars.
Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, Chelsea’s David Luiz and PFA Player Of The Year Virgil Van Dijk are all big fans of the vehicle. With a starting price of around £143k, it fits perfectly in the Arsenal star’s garage, whose £350k-per-week makes sure these beauties are well taken care of.
AUDIS in the house
Ozil’s loyalties with German car makers weren’t limited to just Mercedes-Benz. During his time at Real Madrid, Ozil owned a few Audi cars too – namely the Q7 and an RS5.

Audi were the sponsors of the club then so it’s only natural that the players boast some of their signature pieces. The Q7 has a starting price of £52,075 and the RS5 starts at around £62,740.

Though his love for German makes are evident, the car enthusiast also has a few more world-famous cars under his roof. Ozil also owns an Audi dual-toned RS6, a Porsche Panamera Turbo worth £116,509 and his showstopper in the garage is a Ferrari 458 Italia which is worth an eye-watering £200k.
Talk about the glam lives of footballers and Ozil is surely in the top flight when it comes to cars.
