In honour of celebrating 140 years of the club, Adidas have yet again teamed up with Manchester United to release a limited-edition ‘Newton Heath’ trainers. Manchester United, initially formed as Newton Heath LYR Football Club, were established in 1878 before the name was changed to Manchester United in 1902.

Paying homage to the club, the trainers are designed with respect to the club’s original green and gold kit, with a cargo green shade covering a major bulk of the boots. The back side of the boot has an embed of United’s Devil followed by the year ‘1878’ imprinted on it.

Furthermore, the golden connection has been stamped on the side – with the name imprinted – as well as on the tongue of the trainer which has the Adidas branding. The insole, on the other hand, has the map of the club’s old ground. According to the Manchester Evening News, this limited edition only has 1200 pairs which will be made available for sale at selected stores in Manchester and will cost the buyers £89.95.

Manchester United have indulged themselves in launching several accessories in honour of the club of late. Quite recently, they teamed up with Paul Smith to launch a capsule collection, which includes laptop bags, mobile cases, scarfs and etc. As far as Adidas is concerned, the club also launched the ‘Ninety-Two’ Sneakers back in 2017, commemorating their class of 92.

And two years back, the Sir Bobby Charlton Ashington trainer were also released.
