In honour of commemorating 500 Premier League games, Nike have presented Liverpool midfielder James Milner with a special edition of Magista Opus II boot, which incorporates the club badges he has represented during his career.
Well, Milner actually made his 500the league appearance on December 8, 2018, against Bournemouth and Nike are literally an entire month late. Anyway, as far as the boot goes, the badges have been crafted on a relatively blank design of Magista Opus II. Magista silo has officially been discontinued by The Swoosh for the Phantom Vision, but Milner has remained loyal towards the design.
And as far as the boot goes, the badges of the five clubs he has played for thus far have been painted over the design. Milner started his career with Leeds (2002-2004) before moving to Newcastle United (2004-2009). Aston Villa (2008-2011) eventually came calling before Manchester City (2010-2015) signed him for £26 million. In 2015, the midfielder moved to Liverpool and has since established himself as a key player in Jurgen Klopp’s blueprint. And well, besides the Liverpool logo is this quote which read, ‘To be continued…’
Apart from badges, a silhouette of the player has also been incorporated on the heel. Milner is only the 12th player to have played 500 games in the Premier League. And while it is all but sure that Milner won’t use these cleats in his competitions, Nike have also presented him with another pair, which has the number 500 printed on the heel. But well, Milner didn’t wear it too.
Just in, Milner was recently spotted training in Nike’s recently launched ‘Black Lux’ edition of Phantom Venom.
