Designer cleats are literally a new trend in football, to say the least. And manufacturers, on their part, go down to extreme in order to achieve the supremacy and maintain their stronghold in the market. Football boots over the years have evolved big time and Adidas have time and again made sure they keep themselves up with the very best.
Having big names such as Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba and Paulo Dybala in their roster, Adidas always need to make sure their designs get a perfect balance between technique and style. Having said that, they have persistently come up with something extremely classy.
So here we take a look at five most stylish boots Adidas have designed in 2018:
1. COPA Mid FG GTX
Alright, we get the idea; the boots look tough, tough as in they are meant of trekking or hiking. Combined with a Gore-tex technology, which keeps the feet warm and dry (waterproof), this boot is the last version of Adidas’ COPA 18 series. The design sure looks vague with a mid-collar stitched upon, but it is hard to see any footballer donning these cleats anytime soon.
The regular version of the design though is extremely masculine and it is something that you might want to get your hands on.
2. X 18+ “Cold Mode”
Adidas have their special series dedicated for winter fixtures and this X 18+ “Cold Mode” is one of them. Exactly like the previous design, these cleats keep the feet warm and dry. Adding to its already modish statement is its colour combination of cold blue and cargo green. Furthermore, despite adding a series of technologies, this X 18+ is as sleek as you think.
3. Predator 19+ “Initiator Pack”
It was in early November that Adidas revealed their worst kept secret by launching the laceless Copa 19+ series and it was only a few days after that they dropped their ‘Flashy’ Predator 19+ design, which is a part of the “Initiator Pack”. A mixture of red and orange, the boot is perfectly crafted. Apart from the aforementioned colours, a slight line of black just below the slices on the heel has been mastered.
4. Predator 18+ “Telstar”
It was only some days after launching the official match ball – Telstar Mechta – for the FIFA World Cup, Adidas revealed the design of their limited edition Predator 18+ ‘Telstar’. Combined with the exact same combination of colours to that of the ball, the manufacturers added their iconic three stripes on the side in golden shade. While a combination of Red and White covers one part of the boot, the other has a pixelated design of black and white.
5. Glitch 18 “Devo Skins”
Now some might argue over the inclusion of this design in the list, but I personally think this looks dope. Launched in July this year, this wall-paint graffiti style design created a lot of buzz after Argentina forward Paulo Dybala donned the cleats during the FIFA World Cup in Russia. Initially, these were only made available for sale in UK, France and Germany, but the company eventually made after plans for the design.
