The demolishing of White Hart Lane will happen during the morning after Tottenham Hotspurs face Manchester United on Sunday. In commemoration of the stadium and the Tottenham Tribute Trust, Tottenham will don a special jersey in its honour. Tottenham will say goodbye to the long-cherished home stadium of 118 years on Sunday when Manchester United become its final visitors.
There is set to be a final send-off to the home after full-time, where former Tottenham players and staff will be paraded on the pitch, in celebration of what will soon be gone. The Spurs shirts will incorporate a special edition White Hart Lane crest, as well as the Tottenham Tribute Trust (TTT), which helps the club’s former players who need help or counsel in their life. The words, ‘Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United, 14th May 2017’ will be incorporated on the top. The shirt will also feature both sponsor AIA and Tottenham Tribute Trust and proceeds from the sale of the kit will go towards the latter.
A new Tottenham home stadium is in development and will be unveiled in the not too distant future. The new ground is behind White Hart Lane and Tottenham will use Wembley as their temporary home until the new stadium is built. The new ground, being built, will have a 61,000 capacity and be much larger than their old home.
