FC Bayern Munich’s left-back David Alaba is the music man of the club. Not only because he comes from a heavy music family but also because he has an avid interest in music himself.
After winning the Bundesliga medal six times with the German giants, Alaba seems to be in search of being a number one in a different league. The player also has a massive mansion, of course, which includes a mixing studio as well as a piano.
Alaba often plays the guitar and the piano in his house.
“I’ve always been drawn to football first and foremost but I come from a very musical family. When you come home and dad’s making music, sister’s making music and my mum is also very musical – you can’t escape it.” Alaba, 26, told Bayern’s official website.
Alaba’s father, George, was also part of a dance duo named ‘Two in One’. They enjoyed some success in the 1990s. He now has shifted to DJ-ing and DJs regularly in Vienna. His sister, who is a pop-singer herself, is Alaba’s partner in crime. They have created some music together, but he is unsure if they are willing to release it.
“My sister likes it a lot but my dad is very critical. He says it’s not bad but I’m better on the pitch. Music is a big thing in our family. I also have a feeling and an ear for it. It’s something we share in common,” said the left-back.
Alaba also admits that he is better on the field than the studio. However, when the Austrian retires from football we could see him make a comeback to the music world.
