It has been almost two and a half years since Jose Mourinho realized his lifelong dream – becoming the manager of arguably the biggest club in the world, Manchester United. Mourinho has for long been settled in England, with two spells at Chelsea in the Premier League but this has meant that his family was based in London. When Mourinho shifted to Manchester, he did not want his family to move the base from London.
Hence he took the decision of not buying a home in Manchester. Although this has not compromised the Portuguese gaffers’ luxurious lifestyle one bit. Mourinho for the past two and a half years has called one of the most stunning hotels in Manchester his home, the Lowry hotel located in the city centre.
Here we take a look at a few pictures of the Lowry Hotel, truly reserved for the rich and the famous:
Mourinho reportedly has rented one of the Riverside suites in the hotel, one of the most expensive and luxurious rooms in the well-known Lowry hotel. To rent a suite will cost a big dent in anyone’s pocket with the rent for a day’s stay being a staggering £870. But with Mourinho reportedly earning over €28m per year through his salary and various endorsement deals, the rent should not be an issue for him.
The suite is decorated with some of the finest artworks. They are designed by Alan Rankle and undoubtedly add to the royal nature of the suite.
The Lowry is regarded as not only one of the best hotels in Manchester but also one of the best in England. It has a 5-star status and most of the A-listers who visit Manchester make their presence felt at the hotel. Celebs like Rita Ora, Robbie Williams and Pharell Williams have decided to stay at the hotel whenever they visit Manchester.
Mourinho is not the only one from the club who stays at the hotel. Before matches, the whole of the Manchester United squad rent suites at the Lowry when the home matches come rolling around. Mourinho on various occasions has held long meetings with his players and staff discussing tactics and making some crucial decisions in the hotel before United’s matches at Old Trafford.
