With the continental competitions finally over, the transfer market is in full swing in the Premier League. While there have been some great deals completed already, most sides are still waiting to do their business. This, however means that the rumor mill is churning out links between players and clubs in full swing. Here we take a look at the top 5 transfer rumors going around the Premier League: –
Alexandre Lacazette to Arsenal
The 25-year-old Lyon forward is seemingly seen as the answer to Arsenal’s solution problems by Arsene Wenger. The Frenchmen is in the market for a proven goal scorer to provide some competition to Olivier Giroud, and Lacazette seems like the ideal choice. Fast, mobile and a poacher, Lacazette is everything Giroud is not and should give the team an alternate outlet if he does arrive. The only question is, Is Wenger ready to splash the cash?
Riyad Mahrez to Arsenal
The gifted Algerian winger is the hottest property available in the transfer market, despite Leicester saying he is not for sale, and should add some much need guile to a one-dimensional Arsenal attack. Pretty much like Lacazette though, he is going to cost a mammoth transfer fee, given that Leicester are not willing sellers and Mahrez has not publicly stated his desire to leave them. So, although Arsenal fans are dreaming of the likes of Ozil and Alexis playing alongside Mahrez, this transfer saga is far from over.
Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea
There is something about this transfer window and prodigious talents returning to their former clubs. Mats Hummels, Mario Gotze, Paul Pogba and now Romelu Lukaku. The 23-year old Belgian was discarded by Jose Mourinho and sold to Everton for a reported fee of 28 million pounds, but since then he has matured, scored more than 20 goals a season and has already had a 57-million-pound bid rejected for him. With the asking price set at 75 million, Chelsea must really be determined to get Lukaku back.
John Stones to Manchester City
The talented Evertonian is at the center at the center of another transfer saga, this time with Manchester City involved. While Everton have publicly maintained their stance that Stones is not for sale, it is reported that they could be persuaded to sell to for 50 million pounds. While the defender has been error prone in the past season, his talent is undoubted and as a Guardiola is very eager to work with him at the Etihad. But is it enough for City to part with 50 million pounds? Only time will tell.
