Barcelona had an incredible 2014-15 season under the management of Luis Enrique, winning a treble for the second time in their history. They swept aside all the teams, despite a shaky start, which almost led to a mutiny by the players against Luis Enrique, led by Messi himself. Thankfully, for the Barca fans, there were cool heads in the dressing room like Xavi and Iniesta, who calmed matters down. After the storm, Barcelona nicely settled in their stride and the front three of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez destroyed one and all.
Lionel Messi, the talisman for so much of their modern success, was again the catalyst in Barca’s unprecedented treble-winning campaign. In the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao, the maestro scored one of the most incredible goals in cup finals’ history.
Hailed as one of the greatest in his career; he collected the ball near the halfway line and beat four opposing players, before feinting the goalkeeper to score in a tight space by the near post. This goal won Barcelona the Copa del Rey.
