It has now been stated that north London giants Arsenal are ready to sell England international Theo Walcott in the new year, as they look to raise funds to sign more star players in the summer transfer window. The 28-year-old former Southampton man has not featured for the Gunners on many occasions this term and wants to leave the Emirates himself if he does get the right kind of offer and can agree to terms.
The Sun has further added that Premier League clubs like West Ham United and Southampton are both considering the chance to sign him and will look to make an offer to add him to their squad in the upcoming days. On the other hand, manager Arsene Wenger is looking to aggregate funds as well and might let the Englishman leave the club in order to cash in on him and buy more quality players at the end of the current campaign.
The former joined the north London outfit back in 2006 and has since then made 267 league appearances, scoring 65 times since then. He has been instrumental in Arsenal’s success over the years and feels now that his time at the club has come, as he looks to move on with his career. The French manager is also looking to make some money out of the deal and will want to let him go so that the deal can benefit both the player and the club too.
However, with the top Arsenal stars like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez possibly are set to leave the club in the summer as well, it is still not certain whether Wenger should actually sell Walcott or not. Despite that, it seems that the player has no intention of staying back at the Emirates anymore, as he is not getting enough game time as it is and has already made his mind up to leave the club in the winter transfer window.
