It has been one hell of a year for sports manufacturing giants PUMA. Going head to head with their other rivals, PUMA have left no stones unturned in acquiring some of the best names of the business. And it seems next in the line is Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.
It was on Tuesday morning this week that the World-Cup winning midfielder was spotted training in the blackout edition of the Next-Gen PUMA ONE Boots. This is, however, isn’t the first time. His evaluation with his soon-to-be new suppliers dates back to September this year when he was pictured in, again, the Blackout edition of PUMA Future 2.1.
As of now, the midfielder still uses his Adidas X 18.1 for the competitive games, but it is stated that his contract with the three stripes is about to expire at the end of the season. And that’s why he has started exploring the PUMA products. The other players in the corresponding fray are Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk and Bayern Munich midfielder Serge Gnabry. The duo was also spotted wearing the next-gen PUMA boots in training.
Meanwhile, the latest name in PUMA’s acquisition is the Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany. And just like the Chelsea midfielder, Kompany ditched his Adidas ACE 16.1 for the German manufacturers. Apart from that, PUMA also showered their appreciation for recently crowned Ballon d’Or winner Ada Hegerberg. They dignified her triumph by presenting her a custom-made gold Puma One boots, with the message ‘Believe in yourself’ imprinted on it.
PUMA, furthermore, have also reached an agreement with Manchester City for a kit sponsorship deal from the 2019-20 season. The deal will be the biggest one in terms of kit sponsorship in club’s history and will see them earning a whopping £50 million per season.
PUMA’s roster comprises of the likes of Marco Reus, Luis Suarez, Antoine Griezmann, Romelu Lukaku, Cesc Fabregas, Mario Balotelli, Olivier Giroud, Marc Bartra, Hector Bellerin and Gianluigi Buffon to name a few, and Kante will undoubtedly be a great addition to it.
