Luciano Spalletti’s Inter Milan have won everyone’s hearts after the Italian club, who face Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday night, sent a heartfelt message to Lionel Messi following his arm injury against Sevilla.
Barcelona took on Sevilla on Saturday and although the result was convincing enough – a 4-2 win – the Catalan giants saw their captain Lionel Messi limping off the field with an injured arm. Messi, 31, collided with Sevilla’s Franco Vasquez in as early as the 26th minute before landing heavily on his right arm.
The news followed by the club confirmed that their captain will be out of action for at least three weeks, which means he will also be unavailable for the El Clasico. The statement from the club read, “Tests carried out on the first team player Leo Messi have confirmed that he has a fracture of the radial bone in his right arm. He will be out for approximately three weeks.”
Before the Clasico, however, Barcelona will welcome Luciano Spalletti’s Inter in the third game of group B of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. Barcelona are sure to miss the presence of Messi, but Inter, on their part, also expressed their discontent over the same and said, “We regret your injury and cannot face you in the next few days. It is always an honour to play against the best. #FuerzaLeo “.
Lamentamos tu lesión y no poder enfrentarte en los próximos días. Siempre es un honor jugar ante los mejores.#FuerzaLeo ?

Following their Champions League fixture, Barcelona will welcome Real Madrid at Camp Nou followed by three back-to-back away games against Cultural Leonesa, Rayo Vallecano and again Inter. So as it stands, Messi is expected to mark his return against Atletico Madrid, which is scheduled to be played on November 24.
