While responding to Eden Hazard’s claims, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has taken yet another dig at the club’s hierarchy by saying that signing the Belgian is an impossible task because Chelsea are “led by intelligent people”.
Premier League’s current top scorer with 6 goals, Eden Hazard recently claimed that he would love to play under Jose Mourinho yet again simply because he regrets how things turned into a “negative cycle” for the Portuguese during his third season with Blues.
He went on to add that he was quick to send Mourinho a message after his sacking midway through the 2015-16 season, admitting that it was his fault and apologized for his performances. Winning the Premier League under Mourinho in 2015, Hazard will be reuniting with Mourinho, but this time as an enemy, when Chelsea take on Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
During the pre-match pressure, Mourinho was told about Hazard’s comment and was asked his views over the same. The Portuguese said that he would welcome the Belgium captain with open arms at United, but admitted that won’t be possible because “Chelsea are led by intelligent people.”
“We had a good relationship, we were champions together, so I think the feelings are good,” Mourinho was quoted by BBC.
“History says that when Eden Hazard is the best player in the Premier League, Chelsea is the champion.
“It happened with me, it happened with Antonio [Conte, in 2017]. The season is still in the beginning of course but, if he is the best player of the Premier League until now, which I think he is, Chelsea is top of the league because he’s the kind of player who can make a huge difference.
“I would love to have him in Manchester United but I don’t think Chelsea will sell him to Manchester United.
“It’s a non-problem because Chelsea are led by intelligent and experienced people in football and I think they would never sell Eden to Manchester United.”
Chelsea, who sit on top – level on points with Liverpool and Manchester City – are yet to lose a game this season.
